The data for this project
Two lists.
One useful feature.
Use Countries for a consistent country lookup and Languages for a preferred-language field. These are independent choices; a country does not determine a contact’s language.
Countries
Populate the selector with country names. Store a country code and use the dialing prefix as a starting point for a phone field.
CountryNameCountryAlpha2PhoneCodeLanguages
Offer a preferred-language choice and store its code. Connect that preference to the languages your application actually supports.
LanguageAlpha2Try the sample records for free. Each list offers up to 10 sample records without a key. A pass gets every record currently available in both lists, plus the rest of the catalog.
From sample to application
Load the data
into your application.
Request the complete list from your server, map the fields into your application, and keep a local copy when you need one.
The same request pattern works for languages. Prefer an import? Download a file from either dataset page instead.
A dialing prefix helps fill in a phone field, but does not validate the full number. Language codes do not include translations. Keep your pass key on the server, out of browser code.
const response = await fetch(
"https://mysafeinfo.com/api/data/countries?full=true",
{
headers: {
Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.MYSAFEINFO_KEY}`
}
}
);
if (!response.ok) {
throw new Error(`Data request failed: ${response.status}`);
}
const countries = await response.json();
const options = countries.map(row => ({
label: row.CountryName,
value: row.CountryAlpha2,
dialingPrefix: row.PhoneCode
}));
